How Should You Wash a Ceramic-Coated Car?

A safe maintenance wash
Start out of direct sun. Pre-rinse loose contamination, use a suitable pre-wash, then clean from the top down with a dedicated mitt and pH-neutral shampoo. Keep wheel tools separate from paintwork tools.

What to avoid
Automatic brush washes, abrasive hand polishes, strong traffic-film removers and dirty drying towels can reduce gloss or mar the clear coat even when a coating is present. Ceramic protection is durable, not indestructible.
When water behaviour drops
Reduced beading does not always mean the coating has failed. Mineral deposits, road film and iron contamination can mask its surface. A professional decontamination and compatible booster can often restore performance.
