What is a three-stage paint correction?
Three separate machine stages rather than one or two: a rotary cutting stage to remove significant defects, a dual-action refinement stage to clear holograms left by the cut, and a final jewelling stage for maximum clarity. Each stage is carried out and inspected panel by panel.
What is paint jewelling?
Jewelling is the final ultra-fine polishing stage, using soft finishing pads and refined polish at low speed. It removes the last microscopic haze from earlier cutting so the paint reflects sharply, adding the depth and wet-look gloss associated with show-car finishes.
What level of scratches can be removed?
Anything within the clear coat can usually be removed entirely. Deeper scratches that have broken through the clear coat are improved and softened rather than eliminated. Paint depth is measured throughout so correction never goes further than the paint can safely take.
How long does a full multi-stage correction take?
Typically three to five days, sometimes longer for large or difficult vehicles. The work is carried out personally by Chay Shepley at the studio, and we work to the standard rather than a fixed timescale.
Is multi-stage correction suitable for every vehicle?
No. Some paint is too thin, too soft or too damaged to take three stages safely. Every car is inspected and measured first, and if a two-stage package is the better choice for your paint we will say so. See our standard correction packages.
How much does show-car paint correction cost?
From £1,500, confirmed after inspection. The final figure depends on paint condition, vehicle size and how far correction can safely be taken. Ceramic or premium wax protection is chosen and priced separately. Add ceramic protection.
